About us

  • The underwater Robotics Technologies Center (URTC)  is founded in Alexandria, Egypt by AASTMT (Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport) – that is academic institute – in Collaboration with GIE (Global innovation & Entrepreneurship Company) and Banque Misr. The Center is sponsored by Academy of Science Research and Technology (ASRT), Nile Preneurs, and Banque Misr. 
  • The main objective of this center to enhance the knowledge of underwater robotics between students and researchers with access to industry stakeholders so our target is to have collaboration with global competitions related to underwater robotics.
  • Research is conducted on surface and underwater autonomous systems, underwater manipulator control and environmental sensors as well as on bioinspired aquatic robots.
    The Centre is equipped with testing tanks to test robots in a controlled environment and it has direct access to the sea to assess robots’ performance in a real environment.
